UK: Twelve years after he brought the magazine to its knees in a libel case, Jason Donovan is leading a group of investors who are looking to rescue The Face magazine from Emap, which is threatening the ailing title with closure.
The former 'Neighbours' star is understood to have approached Emap about buying the title, which has seen its circulation wither away sparking talk that Emap will call it a day.
In 1992 Donovan sued The Face for libel after it said he was gay. He was awarded £292,000 in damages but waived the cash as the then independent magazine would have been bankrupted. Brand Republic
