NAPCAN

NAPCAN urges people to take action on child abuse.

The National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse (NAPCAN) is aiming to encourage people to not just stand by but to speak up against child abuse and neglect in this TV ad from DDB.

The 60 second TVC combines real time and slow motion demonstrating the idea of people “just standing there” by showing a range of people mysteriously standing frozen to the spot as life goes on around them. A super says “In Australia a child is abused every 13 minutes…..So don’t just stand there….Help prevent it”.

DDB national creative director Garry Horner says the ad aims to challenge apathy towards an important social issue and ends with a clear call to action.

Credits: Agency DDB Sydney, creative director Garry Horner, writer Peter Ogden, art director Michael O’Rourke, director Sean Meehan, production house Plaza Films, sound design Stellar sound, agency producer Sean Ascroft and Kristy Fransen, DDB business management Carolyn Maloney, media OMD, plus help from The Lab, Human, AtLab.
