Google appoints PHD for B2B work

Google has appointed media agency PHD to handle its business-to-business initiatives.

Google is renowned as a company that does not advertise to consumers and has long used word of mouth, however it does have some important business to business communications.

Jason Chuck, head of marketing at Google Australia and New Zealand, said: "We're excited to be working with the highly innovative PHD on some of our B2B initiatives. There are great opportunities for online advertising in Australia and New Zealand, and we'll be growing our marketing efforts to reach new small and medium businesses looking to jump online this year."

The previous agency working on B2B initiatives was Carat. However, a Google spokesperson said the search giant would continue to work with Carat. The appointment is on a project basis.

PHD had not returned calls at the time of going to press.
