B&T Awards 2009: shortlist revealed

DDB has topped the list of finalists for the 2009 B&T Awards scooping six nominations followed closely by BMF and Clemenger/Colenso BBDO with five apiece.

DDB’s Melbourne office leads the charge, earning shortlists in the Victorian Agency of the Year, Employer of the Year, Best Ad and Best Ad Campaign categories.

DDB Sydney made the list in the New South Wales Agency of the Year category, while the network will battle it out for Ad Agency of the Year title alongside last year’s winners BMF, Clemenger/Colenso BBDO, Droga5, Publicis Mojo and Three Drunk Monkeys.

In addition to Ad Agency of the Year BMF, which was named B&T’s Grand Prix Agency of 2008, has been shortlisted in NSW Agency of the Year alongside fellow Photon agency BWM, DDB, Host and Three Drunk Monkeys.

Clemenger Melbourne, last year’s Victorian Agency of the Year, will fight it out for Victorian Agency of the Year alongside sister agency Clemenger Proximity, DDB, Leo Burnett and Wunderman.

Media agencies Ikon Communications, OMD, Starcom MediaVest and Universal McCann are finalists for Media Agency of the Year, while Access PR, One Green Bean, PPR and Res Publica are shortlisted in PR Agency of the Year.

One Green Bean has picked up a total of four shortlist nominations, adding Specialist and Emergency Agency of the Year to PR. It also scored a nod in conjunction with sister agency Host in the Best Digital Campaign category for its “iSpyLevis” social media-driven campaign.

Interactive Agency of the Year will be decided between BMF, Deepend, Host, Soap Creative and Sputnik, while Carlton United Breweries, Foxtel, SBS and Whirpool, will challenge last year’s winner Commonwealth bank for best Marketing Team.

More than 50 different agencies and companies are represented in the shortlist with over 240 entries received.

Final round judging which includes live presentations in some categories takes place on November 13 in Sydney.

Winners will be announced at a gala diner at the AJC, Royal Randwick on Friday 4 December.

Tables of ten and individual tickets are on sale now. Email heather.lawson@reedbusiness.com.au or call 02 9422 2791 for more details.
