After 85 years of pure unadulterated Vegemite, brand owner Kraft Foods is introducing a new variant of the iconic Australian spread. A new smoother version of the product has been launched, a combination of Vegemite, cream cheese and a secret ingredient. Kraft is calling on consumers to name the new product which will first appear on shelves bearing the label “Name Me”.
BWM executive creative director Rob Belgiovane is to replace Matt Eastwood, national ECD of DDB, as juror at the Cannes Lions next week, and will now sit on the panel for the Outdoor Lions. Eastwood has had to pull out of the Awards due to work commitments.
M&C Saatchi has pulled out of the Tourism Western Australia pitch. Mike Abel, CEO at M&C confirmed to B&T Today that it had withdrawn leaving Host, BMF and 303 left to battle it out. The contract with incumbent Marketforce ends in August. Tourism WA spent $2.3 million on main media in the year to April 2009 according to Nielsen AIS figures. A decision on the new agency is expected in July.
Commercial radio stations in Sydney including 2GB, 2DAY, Triple M, Nova and Vega among others began broadcasting DAB+ digital radio services today, joining stations in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane completing the five state metropolitan switch on and taking the total number of digital radio services on air in Australia to 44.
