Hyland Media has won poultry brand Steggles after presenting to the client last week. Steggles was acquired by fellow poultry producer Baiada last year. Previously the media agency has worked with Baiada on its Lilydale chicken business, which lead to the awarding of the the Steggles business. Baiada’s media spend is currently $4 million a year.

Korean Tyre maker Kumho Tyre has appointed Thomson PR to handle its PR and publicity across its Australian operations. Kumho is planning a marketing push using its involvement in major motor sport championships based around its role as exclusive control tyre supplier to the Australian Rally Championship and the Australian Formula 3 Championship.
Hughes Public Relations (HPR) has acquired South Australian based marketing and communications firm Hamrahead. The integration sees former hamrahead general manager Simon Hatcher join HPR along with a number of new clients including IKEA, Constellation Wines and global chemical company Chemtura. Other HPR clients include include Adelaide Airport Limited, BankSA, Beerenberg and Clean Seas Tuna.

The PR program will involve raising the profile of Retail Directions, through customer stories and comment pieces.
Digital sales group Ad2one is opening a new office in Auckland this week. It is the firm’s sixth international city location and follows the opening of its Melbourne office last year and its Singapore office in 2008. Lisa Ison, formerly of MSN New Zealand has been appointed as As2one’s country manager to establish its presence in New Zealand. Ison will report to the Asia Pacific managing director Phil Duffield, who is based at the regional headquarters in Sydney

PR agency Weber Shandwick has made two key senior promotions in Sydney. Lisa Popplewell has been promoted to general manager of the Australian business, while Alex Kelly has been promoted to senior vice president and head of client services in Australia, with an additional remit for growing the firm’s regional food and beverage business across all Asia Pacific markets. Both executives will continue to report directly to the managing director, Emma-Jane Granleese.
