Virgin Mobile hunts for specialist DM agency Olivia Collings
Virgin Mobile is hunting for its first specialist direct marketing agency, in one of the first major marketing moves from new marketing director Jon Bradshaw.
The pitch is expected to be called in coming weeks and is being sought by Virgin Mobile to meet growing business needs, the company told B&T.
No agencies are believed to have been approached to pitch for the business yet, but the company is understood to be looking at a number of prospective partners.
Virgin Mobile PR manager Amber Morris said: “The pitch has come about because of the continued growth of the business and the need for a specialist in the direct marketing area, including websites.”
The company had previously relied on its roster of creative and PR agencies including Host, One Green Bean and The Glue Society for any direct marketing needs.
“If anything this will help take the load off them,” Morris added.
The addition of broadband to Virgin Mobile’s portfolio last year has been a factor in the growth of the company, she said.
“We have two brands now and want to engage an agency that has experience in direct marketing.”
Bradshaw joined as marketing director in February this year, replacing outgoing director Sue Bailey who left the company’s Australian operations in mid-December to take up a role at Virgin Mobile US.
Bradshaw told B&T he intends to pursue both commercial success and creativity.
“I tend to be quite commercial for a marketing guy, I care about the numbers, and making a profit is my clear objective,” Bradshaw said.
