Microsoft picks Y&R Wunderman

MICROSOFT has appointed Y&R Wunderman to its customer relationship and direct marketing business following a seven nation global pitch for the $US400m business.

The win has however meant Wunderman has had to relinquish the IBM business which has been consolidated in the WPP Group with Ogilvy & Mather.

It is understood others involved in the Microsoft pitch locally included Publicis, Proximity and Rapp Collins.

Under the new arrangement Wunderman will handle seven of the nine Microsoft business divisions, including Xbox and home entertainment, business servers and business tools.
