UNIVERSAL Music Australia has put its support behind Seven Network hopeful 2004 series of Popstars Live which launched last week.
Universal is providing the winner’s contract for the series which includes releasing the winner’s single and album.
Universal Music managing director George Ash said Popstars Live was a “compelling” vehicle for finding new and exciting musical talent.
Ash said that around the world more than forty countries had run their own Popstars with winners who have gone on to sell millions of records and create dozens of number one hit songs.
Seven is hoping Popstars will perform strongly against Ten’s American Idol when Popstars goes to its two program a week format shortly and goes head to head with American Idol on Sunday nights.
