Lion Nathan’s marketing head, Margaret Zabel, has announced she will step down at the end of February after six years at the helm, to “explore new career opportunities.”
Zabel’s departure will see Matt Tapper, Lion Nathan’s regional director for NSW, step into the role of national marketing director from March. Tapper has assumed a number of senior marketing and sales positions at Lion Nathan since 1997, including national sales director for independent customers, marketing director for XXXX and regional brands and acting national marketing director.
The decision to leave after more than a decade at the company came as Zabel wanted to take time off to spend time with her family and explore other career options. She will, however, continue with the company on a part-time project basis.
Under Zabel, Lion Nathan’s marketing division made the transition to a national brand portfolio and launched a number of new brands across all major trademarks.
