Campaign highlights Aboriginal opportunities

Aboriginal Employment Strategy, an Aboriginal managed and not-for-profit employment organisation, has launched its first national advertising campaign in its eleven year history, with the aim of increasing Aboriginal traineeship and employment opportunities within corporate Australia.

The campaign, which will include full-page advertisements in national print media, highlights existing partnerships with large Australian organisations, and uses tag lines such as “You can bank on employing young Aboriginals. ANZ are.”, showcasing successful AES trainees.

The AES currently partners with banks including ANZ, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, NAB and Westpac as well as other large Australian organisations including Accor and Sydney City Council.

Campaign creator, Stewart Kennedy from Brighton Road Marketing said the campaign would challenge the perceptions most Australians have when it comes to Aboriginal youth and Indigenous employment.

“We’re raising the profile of many young Indigenous Australians who are great role models for other youth and the broader community. They’re challenging the typical stereotypes. These kids are working nine to five, wearing suits and ties and proving themselves to be hard working, reliable, motivated and honest,” he said.
