Southern Cross restructures

Southern Cross Ten has announced a management restructure following the retirement of its general manager for NSW, Eric Pascoe, after 22 years.

The changes include the consolidation of the management of the three state-based operations of Southern Cross Ten under the control of one general manager based in Canberra.

It currently operates with individual management of the Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian markets, incorporating 22 sub market feeds.

Southern Cross said that with the advent of centralised presentation of a common Ten program feed from the recently established digital play out centre in Canberra it was now appropriate to consolidate the management role.

Southern Cross Broadcasting’s group general manager for television, Bruce Abraham, said the company saw an opportunity to centralise the decision making for the group which would provide a “more streamlined and efficient management structure and a more consistent output for the group”.

“This newly created position will further enhance the already strong contribution that the Southern Cross Ten group makes to Southern Cross Broadcasting” Abraham said.

Southern Cross expects to fill the position and put the new structure in place by the beginning of September.
