Zadro Wins Best Achievement n Marketing At The Australian Event Awards

Sydney based integrated communications agency Zadro, won the Best Achievement in Marketing and Communications or Sponsorship at the prestigious Australian Event Awards last night, for creating an integrated communications campaign that delivered a successful inaugural Hotel Career Expo for Tourism Accommodation Australia.

The Hotel Career Expo was developed in response to the significant forecasted professional skill shortages in the hotel industry. In an industry first, the event in May 2016 brought together 20 competing hotel brands to raise awareness of the professional career opportunities available and promote working in hotels as a legitimate career option to a new generation of students.

Felicity Zadro, Managing Director, Zadro commented on winning this significant award.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as a winner of the Australian Event Awards! The communications campaign for the Hotel Career Expo was in essence a social change project, aimed to permanently change current societal understanding and knowledge of professional careers in the hotel industry.

“Our team leveraged methodology from sociology theory around making social change to design this strategy. We developed a strong brand and bright visuals to engage with the target market and ensured all key messages were reinforced across all touch points – creating an integrated marketing campaign that resulted in the event smashing its attendance targets.

“Integrated communications around events is the most powerful approach and the success of this campaign proves that peer-to-peer communications are trusted and deliver superior results.

“I thank Carol Giuseppi, CEO of Tourism Accommodation Australia for giving us the opportunity to deliver on her strong vision to impact the whole industry through an event,” concluded Ms Zadro.

The communications campaign delivered by Zadro was bold, colourful and modern, and included setting the overarching strategic direction and branding. The roll out of the campaign saw development of a website, interactive PDFs, case study led PR campaign, radio advertising, social media, digital marketing, competitions and influencer communications.

The Australian Event Awards is the pinnacle awards program for the events industry in Australia. Over 350 professionals attended the gala dinner that took place on the Sunshine Coast last night.
