Zac Posen Debuts ‘Google’ Dress That Can Change Colours

Fashion designer Zac Posen and Google’s Made with Code initiative has launched a little black dress for the digital age- a dress which can be programmed to change its look.

The dress which debuted at New York Fashion this week during Posen’s spring 2016 collection. Coded by LED dress technologist Maddy Maxey, it incorporated animations designed by a group of girls coders from around the world.

Maxey is a coding mentor at Made with Code, her goal is to teach girls to code using challenges that capture their imagination. Maxey encourages girls to code and break down those technology barriers: “If you like Made with Code projects, try JavaScript or something else that’s similar. Keep diving in. Don’t stop yet.”

Agencies Swift, 72andSunny and Nexus supported the LED dress initiative, including the social media, website and Block.ly coding app.
