Woolworths has said it’s removed its new ad featuring celebrity trainer Michelle Bridges after receiving a number of rather not nice comments on its Facebook page.

Woolworths had enlisted the help of Bridges for its latest ads, which sees the trainer poking fun at people obsessing about fitness.

There’s a series of videos in the campaign, and the one that really had everyone riled up featured Bridges in a garden of veggies, eating soil and after proclaiming not everyone has to be a “freak”. Watch the ad, created by content marketing agency Emotive, here.

The video, since removed from Facebook and YouTube, sparked outrage on social media with many saying they would no longer be customers.

Woolworths has since apologised, saying it was never their intention to offend anyone.

Bridges’ page has also had a few complaints since her posting of the ad to her public figure page.
