Describe your average day?

No two days are the same. I spend my average day coaching my team to help deliver on our plans and meeting with professional marketers to stay in touch with their needs.

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging and fulfilling part of my job is trying to get the best from every individual in my team.

What drives you?

A passion to fuel growth in Marketing capability and capacity across Australian industry

What’s the hardest brief you’ve ever received or hardest job to execute?

The most challenging brief was to grow the number of AMP financial planners by reimagining the way financial planners were sourced and attracted; developed and educated and transitioned to their practice of choice.

What has been your favourite job in media and why?

Working with the TV, Radio, Print and social channels whilst leading the AMP Marketing Communications for the Sydney Olympic Games quadrennial (4 years).

What would be your ultimate role?

To lead a global marketing think tank

What’s you proudest professional moment?

Being asked by the AMI Board to continue as the AMI CEO for a 2nd term.

What is your quirkiest attribute?

Dancing to Latin music

One thing no one knows about you?

I am a very tactile person

What are marketing’s biggest challenges?

Over the last few weeks I have been having conversations and listening to hundreds of AMI members to learn what marketers see as the chief challenges and “pain points” heading into the new financial year.

The biggest challenges facing marketers are:

• Business growth

• Marketing talent capability growth

• Data and analytics

• Content marketing

What do you think are the most exciting things in the marketing and creative world at the moment?

The possibilities from the internet of things. The opportunities from the explosion of new technologies, platforms and formats for Marketers to communicate with customers.

Hardest lesson you’ve had to learn (in or out of workforce)?

Ruthless prioritisation of my time

If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we are not really living. Sometimes growth demands a temporary surrender of security.
