Data from Amobee has revealed which brands are most likely to stick in Aussies brains around the latest James Bond film Spectre. Unsurprisingly, car brand Aston Martin has taken out top spot.

Using the company’s Brand Intelligence technology, Amobee accessed what Australian residents were engaging with between 1st August to the 15th November, including what was seen, read and watched by consumers across the whole Internet – not just what was “said” on social media.

Here are the top 10 brands discussed online in relation to Spectre:

1. Aston Martin

Aston Martin takes the top spot in brands associated with 007 and is synonymous with the Bond series since the brand introduced the DB5 in the Bond film Goldfinger back in 1964.

This year the car company introduced a new model called the DB10 specifically for the film. Hence  Aston Martin is almost three times more likely to be associated with Spectre than any other brand.

2. Omega

Omega is another brand which has legacy ties with 007 and produced 15 per cent as much related digital content engagement as Aston Martin for the same time period.

Since the introduction of the Seamaster Divers watch in 1995’s Goldeneye, Omega has been the watch of choice for Bond. Omega is now looking to cash in on the relationship and unlike commemorative timepieces released for earlier James Bond flicks, the Spectre version of the watch is identical to the one on Daniel Craig’s wrist in the film and available for purchase.

3. Jaguar C-X75

Jaguar, who achieved 13 per cent associated content band produced the C-X75 a hybrid-electric, two-seat concept car which appears in Spectre as Mr. Hinx’s car.

4. Land Rover

Land-Rover who achieved 8 per cent association with Spectre achieved this through supplying a lineup of Land Rover vehicles; including the Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender which featured in one of the most high profile car chase scenes in Spectre.

5. Tom Ford
Designer Tom Ford worked closely with costume designer Jany Temime to provide tailored clothing and casual wear for Daniel Craig, as well as exclusive eyewear worn by the James Bond character.

Tom Ford, president of the brand, said: “James Brand epitomises the Tom Ford man in his elegance, style and love of luxury. It’s an honour to move forward with this iconic character.

6. Sony Xperia

7. Heineken

8. Snapchat

9. Rolls-Royce

10. Belvedere

Whilst bigger brands have created stronger association with Spectre, smaller brands such as Belvadere have also capitalised on the new release. Belvadere achieved eight times their weekly average consumption on the day it released (10th September 2015) its 007 special edition collector bottles alongside a global campaign.
