Weekly Ad Round-Up: It’s B&T’s Car Edition

vroom, vroom, vroom! This week’s weekly ad round-up is all about car advertising, so drive by and take a look.

The uncrashable car

Mercedes-Benz’s new ad shows kids playing with magnet cars and the intense frustration that the toy cars don’t crash!

Man + human looking dolls + car crash = emotional ad from Acura.

“Our goal here is to talk about how personal it is,” Leila Cesario, national advertising manager for Acura told Autonews“It’s beyond just passing a test.

“Before we even shot the ad, just talking about the ad, everyone here was emotional about it because everyone was very quickly able to relate to it.”

The cardboard car

Lexus UK has made a driveable replica of its IS model sedan, using 1,700 pieces of cardboard.

The cardboard cut-out car has a replica interior, functioning doors, headlights and rolling wheels. An electric motor mounted on its steel and aluminium frame allows the car to drive. Just don’t leave it out in the rain.

Props to CarAdvice with its bizarre kangaroo man ad released this week.
