OMD Retains Village Roadshow After Competitive Pitches From PHD & Mitchells

Village Roadshow Limited (VRL) has picked OMD out of a line-up to be its preferred media agency off the back of a three month competitive pitch.

VRL is a foundation client from OMD’s entry into the Australian market in 2000. The contract, which is serviced out of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, includes Roadshow Films (Theatrical and Entertainment), Village Roadshow Theme Parks and Village Cinemas Australia.

Speaking on behalf of VRL, Phil Oneile, director of marketing for Roadshow Films said, “Village Roadshow operates in a rapidly changing environment and we wanted to go to market to find a media partner that was the best fit for our future.

“After a rigorous and competitive pitch process, we have decided that OMD is our preferred media agency. Throughout the entire media pitch process OMD clearly demonstrated that they are the right fit for us now and into the future. Their knowledge and passion for our brands was evident throughout.”

MD of OMD Melbourne Margie Reid said the pitch process “reaffirms one of our longest standing and collaborative partnerships”, while head of comms planning Matt Mills added the team “lives entertainment”, making the partnership all the more exciting.

Peter Horgan, CEO of OMD Australia (pictured above) also added, “This is an incredible 24 hours for OMD Australia and an endorsement of the client centric model we all believe in.

“I am extremely proud of what Margie Reid, Rob Swinton, and their teams have achieved in taking the VRL relationship to the next level.”
