However, it is unclear whether any evidence was discovered or if the material related to a story that ACA was researching.

Media reports say seven NSW police officers entered the studios this morning and were seen leaving with sealed bags of evidence. No arrests were made.

There had been unsubstantiated media reports that the offices of executive producer Grant Williams had been targeted. Williams is currently overseas.

Nine’s news and current affairs director Darren Wick confirmed to staff that officers from the New South Wales police have been at the network’s Willoughby offices this morning.

“I can confirm that officers from the New South Wales police have been at TCN (Television Corporation Nine) this morning investigating matters relating to a staff member at A Current Affair,” Wick wrote in an email to staff.

“It’s a personal matter that does not relate to the program or Nine. We are co-operating with the police. However, we are not in a position to comment any further as this is an ongoing investigation.”
