Uber’s Head Of Design Quits

Uber’s head of design and brand Andrew Crow has announced he’s quitting the ride sharing company to spend more time with his family.

Crow announced his resignation via public blog site Medium a week ago, thanking the team for supporting him through his time at Uber.

“For me, I’m using our recent successes as a chance to take time off to rest, reflect, and recharge,” wrote Crow. “I miss being there for my kids and I’m making a decision that enables that. Soon, I’ll be ready to take up the next challenge and it’s going to be great.”

Uber hit the headlines around the same time last week when it unveiled its new branding and design.

However the new logo was widely criticised. It divided designers and led one design company to issue a contest calling for others to redesign Uber’s redesign.

Crow’s post though doesn’t mention the branding or whether he was involved in it or not.
