Uber Partners With Facebook Messenger

Uber Partners With Facebook Messenger

Facebook and Uber have announced ‘Transportation on Messenger’, a new messenger feature which integrates ride-sharing services into its communications app.

The feature will make it easier to request an Uber ride without having to download an extra app or leave a conversation.

Seth Rosenberg, product manager said in a press release: “To get started, download the latest version of Messenger. Then, from within a conversation, tap the more menu and choose Transportation. You can also search directly for Uber – our first partner – and tap the car icon to request a ride. From there, you’ll receive updates on your driver’s status and notify your friends that you’ve called a ride.”

A representative from Uber said: “We’re excited to continue working with Facebook to find more ways to bring people together — and bring even more of the Uber experience to Messenger.”

This service is being test in the States, it will be available in Australia ‘soon’.
