Three Of Ten’s Reality Shows Nominated For Logies

With reality TV being the second most watched genre after sport, no doubt the champagne is flowing at the offices of Ten as three of its reality shows have been nominated for TV Week Logie Awards.

In the Best Reality TV show award, Ten’s The Bachelorette, MasterChef and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here all made the cut. Nine’s The Block is also nominated as is Seven’s My Kitchen Rules.

In the sporting world Nine dominated the nominations with three of its shows up – The AFL Footy Show, The NRL Footy Show and the Wide World Of Sports.

The other nominations include Foxtel’s AFL 360 and NITV’s Mangrook Footy Show.

In the illustrious Gold Logie nominations for Best Personality on Australian TV, last year’s winner Carrie Bickmore – presenter on Ten’s news show The Project – was once again among the talent pool.

Bickmore’s co-host on The Project, Waleed Aly, also made the cut, alongside sassy SBS newsreader Lee Lin Chin, Scott Cam from Nine’s The Block, Essie Davis from ABC’s Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Grant Denyer from Ten’s Family Feud and The Great Australian Spelling Bee.

The Logie nominations for Best Presenter also had similar faces.

They included The Project’s Bickmore and Aly, SBS’s Chin and Ten’s Denyer. But newcomer was Amanda Keller, one half of WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda and host of Ten’s The Living Room.

SBS was the only free-to-air channel to not have a nomination in the Best News Panel or Current Affairs Program.

This category saw Nine scoop two nominations for 60 Minutes and brekkie show Today. ABC’s Q&A was nominated too, as well as Ten’s The Project and Seven’s Sunrise brekkie program.
