TV Presenter Resigns Following Foul-Mouthed Rant At Charity Fundraiser

Sky News and Fox Sports presenter Greg Thomson has resigned after exhibiting some fairly inappropriate behaviour at a charity lunch.

Thomson was hosting the lunch for disability support group Inala at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney last Friday, where he began swearing on stage at guests, who had each paid $270 for their ticket.

You can check out his foul-mouthed tirade in the video below:

A News Corp spokesperson told B&T at the time that Thomson had been “taken off air and suspended immediately pending an investigation” into the incident.

And despite Thomson telling Fairfax Media post-incident that he had “nothing to be sorry about”, it turns out he was wrong.

Not only did the TV presenter apologise to the charity event’s organisers, sponsors and attendees via Twitter, Thomson announced his resignation from Sky News and Fox Sports.

Australian News Channel CEO Angelos Frangopoulos announced Greg Thomson’s resignation to Sky News staff in an email yesterday afternoon.

“I would like to thank Greg for his contribution to ANC and wish him all the best for the future,” Frangopoulos wrote.
