Tuesday TV Wrap: Buying Blind Debuts To 608K, While Interview Hits New Low

Nine’s new reality house buying show Buying Blind debuted to 608,000 viewers last night but it appears TV viewers were far more interested in their stomachs than the woes of home buyers.

Foodie shows MasterChef (852,000) and the ABC’s Back in Time for Dinner (622,000) both won their respective time slots.

Sadly, Andrew Denton’s Interview continues to struggle. Last night’s episode featuring legendary KISS frontman, Gene Simmons, had its worst night since launch, managing only 368,000.

Still, it wasn’t all bad news for Seven who won Tuesday night with 27.9 per cent audience share. Nine racked-up 25.3 per cent, Ten did well with 21.5 per cent, the ABC had 17.1 per cent, while SBS pulled 8.2 per cent.

But it Nine’s Buying Blind did anything, it was stuff Seven’s House Rules that fell to 674,000 in the head-to-head home reno battle.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin (1.07 million) beat rival Nine’s (1.02 million). A Current Affair had another good night, pulling 893,000.

Over at Ten, Shark Tank pulled 560,000 and The Project had 566,000.

The ABC’s night went thus: ABC News (702,000), Back in Time for Dinner (622,000), 7:30 (531,000), Making Child Prodigies (400,000), Miriam’s Big American Adventure (315,000) and 50 Years of BtN (208,000).

For SBS, its best was the excellent Who Do You Think You Are? that managed 404,000 and gave the network one of its better audience share numbers in some time.
