Thursday TV Wrap: Lovelorn Viewers Flock Back To The Bachelorette Finale

It may not have reached the numbers 10 bosses would have hoped during the actual series, however, last night’s The Bachelorette finale proved viewers still love a good dose of romance.

Some 766,000 tuned-in for the bulk of last night’s show, rising to 926,000 when Ali Oetjen chose her beau, Taite Radley.

Nine still won Thursday with 27.8 per cent audience share, Seven was close behind with 26.8 per cent and 10 had to settle for 21.1 per cent. To be fair to 10, if only the primaries were counted, then it could have placed a number two. The ABC had 17.4 per cent and SBS had 6.8 per cent.

Seven’s evening ran thus: 6pm news 850,000), Home And Away (483,000), The Chase (463,000), Orange Is The New Brown (264,000), Modern Family (198,000) and movie Date Night (144,000).

Nine’s best was its 6pm news (757,000), followed by A Current Affair (648,000), Paramedics (584,000), RBT (470,000), Hot Seat (426,000) and Chicago Med (244,000).

The Bachelorette aside, 10’s other highlights included How to Stay Married (507,000), The Project (444,000), 10 News First (339,000), Pointless (214,000) and Law & Order: SVU (208,000).

For the ABC, its best was its 7pm news with 642,000, followed by 7:30 (525,000), Grand Designs Australia (448,000) and Endeavour (289,000).

For SBS, its best was Waco that managed a rather disappointing 142,000.
