The animals will also have an element of augmented reality when combined with a download from the App Store or Google Play.

The app scans the animal’s face to launch an interactive world featuring the real life species that the Wild Bunch represents. Each animal will showcase their own unique movements, sounds and fun facts to further educate readers on the specific animal. To encourage readers to collect all seven animals the full collection will unlock a special feature on the final day.

News Corp Australia state director NSW Brett Clegg, said: “Join Our Safari is a true multi-platform campaign and an example of the value News Corp is able to offer our partners as a business. The campaign also enables us to reward The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph readers and subscribers with a number of great offers and of course fantastic animal content, driving awareness around endangered species and environmental sustainability.”

Taronga Zoo acting general manager guest and commercial operations Libby Hodgson said: “Our Zoos are working with The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph to tell the fascinating and engaging wildlife conservation stories of the animals in our care to thousands of people. This a chance to inspire and communicate with many people and invite them to be involved in making a sustainable future for wildlife and people to share.”
