To show the support of the charity event, The Vinnies CEO Sleepout, News Corp’s The Australian has pledged to donate 50c from every paper sold on Saturday, June 13.
CEO of The Australian, Nicholas Gray, has participated in the sleepout before and it’s the second year he is the official ambassador of the event.
Gray said: “I am privileged to support The Vinnies CEO Sleepout for the second year and announce a new fundraising initiative where The Australian, in conjunction with appeal partners, will be donating more than $100,000 to the cause through a cover price promotion.
“At least year’s Sleepout I saw first-hand how slippery the slope to homelessness can be and how generous and inspiring the team at St Vincent de Paul Society are in supporting some of Australia’s most disadvantaged.
“I’m pleased to be able to play my part to help raise money and so proud that The Australian’s readers can help to make a meaningful difference to homelessness by purchasing a copy of The Weekend Australian this Saturday to further support St Vinnies in the important work they do every day.”
