Ten’s MasterChef On Top of TV Ratings

Ten’s Masterchef took out the coveted first place in the top 20 most watched shows for the night last night.

The reality cooking show at 7.30pm pulled in 1.171 million free-to-air viewers in a five city metro, with the Masterclass afterwards nabbing seventh place with 883,000 viewers, according to OzTam preliminary ratings.

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games also helped Ten place number one overall as the first evening drew in 911,000 viewers.

Ten had the largest total combined share last night with OzTam preliminary ratings displaying a share of 31.4%.

Ten’s main channel had a 20.4% share.

February 8 this year saw the previous time Ten had had the top place in total people, according to a Ten spokesperson.

Nine came second for Thursday night with a total share of 24%, with its primary station seeing a share of 17.9%.

Nine’s most watched non-news program of the night was the second repeat episode of The Big Bang Theory which grabbed 690,000 viewers.

Seven came third with a total share of 22.7%.

The network’s main channel had a share of 15.1%.

Seven’s most watched non-news program for the night was Home and Away which recorded a viewership of 840,000.

ABC came in fourth with a share of 15.7% as ABC1 saw 11.4%.

SBS was fifth with 6.3% overall and a 5.1% share for SBS One.
