Ten Announces Local Version of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

Network Ten has announced the commissioning a local version of the international TV format I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The new series promises to be one of the biggest live reality television events of 2015, as Australian celebrities are dropped into the African jungle with little more than their wits, strength and willpower to survive the competition.

The celebrities will leave their homes, families and luxuries behind. How will they cope with African wildlife, a constant series of challenges and tests, basic rations and their fellow campmates? Who will survive the infamous Bush Tucker Trials? Who will win the hearts of viewers and be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle?

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

Network Ten chief programming officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is a big, noisy and spectacular show for all the family and an incredible live reality television event. It will be a massive production, set in an amazing location in Africa. We cannot wait to get our celebrities in the jungle.

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is a smash hit in the UK, where its most recent season launched with 13.5 million viewers, making it the UK’s most watched entertainment show.

“We are very excited to be bringing I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! to Australians and we know Australians will be excited to have their own version of one of the funniest, most engaging and most interactive television shows in the world.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be produced for Network Ten by ITV Studios Australia. The format is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

ITV Studios Australia managing director, Anita Jacoby, said: “Network Ten is backing an international success story with I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

“After 13 huge seasons in the UK and eight massive seasons in Germany – and with both
countries now gearing up for their next series – I’m a Celebrity is one of the longest-running, biggest and most successful formats in the world,” she said.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is to premiere on Ten in 2015.

The Daily Telegraph speculates that a radio duo could host the show with ARN’s Jonesy and Amanda’s names being thrown into the hat alongside NOVA’s Fitzy and Wippa.
