Seven’s surprisingly tedious Sunday night family outing, Australian Spartan, has plummeted 36 per cent since last week’s debut, managing a worrying 524,000 last night.

In comparison to rival Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior, Spartan is down 69 per cent when compared to Ninja’s average last year of 1.64 million.

Married At First Sight was about the only show in town again last night, matching last week’s record eyeballs with 1.54 million.

On the back of MAFS, Nine won the night with 35.2 per cent, followed by Seven with 25.9 per cent, Ten had 16.1 per cent, the ABC 15.4 per cent and SBS 7.3 per cent.

In the battle of news and current affairs, Nine’s 6pm news bulletin (1.02 million) beat Seven’s (897,000). While 60 Minutes also flogged Seven’s returning Sunday Night, with 795,000 versus 488,000, respectively.

Over at Ten, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! pulled 633,000, while The Sunday Project was largely disappointing with only 365,000.

The ABC’s evening went thus: ABC News (738,000), Grand Designs (621,000) and Howard’s End (569,000).

A re-run of the Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras was SBS’ best pulling 243,000 viewers.
