Married At First Sight stormed to its best night ever on Sunday, and that’s despite the debut of Australian Spartan on Seven.

MAFS pulled a whopping 1.54 million viewers for Nine, while Seven would be disappointed with its Australian Ninja-clone that managed a reasonable 816,000.

And in worse news for Seven, its Winter Olympics halo is over on the back of the closing ceremony with Nine taking last night’s honours for the first time in 2018 with an impressive 35.9 per cent audience share.

Seven was second with 29.8 per cent, Ten grabbed third with 15.4 per cent, the ABC had 12.8 per cent and SBS pulled 6.2 per cent.

Nine also returned to winner’s circle with the 6pm news bulletin, beating rival Seven 1.09 million to 1.02 million, respectively.

60 Minutes pulled 846,000 for Nine, while Seven’s Olympics closing ceremony had 580,000.

Over at Ten, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! received a boost, pulling 707,000. While The Sunday Project managed 404,000.

For the ABC, its 7pm news bulletin was its best with 714,000, followed by Grand Designs with 615,000 and Riot with 207,000.

While over at the SBS, the awful truth was nobody was watching Easter Island: The Truth Revealed, its best of the night with just 236,000 viewers.
