STW Agency Cornwell Makes Two Senior Hires

Cornwell, an STW brand agency, has further strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointments of a new creative director and business strategy director, following the promotion of Sally Dobell to the role of CEO earlier this year.

Toby Rupert Norris takes the agency’s creative helm in the role of creative director, charged with building the agency’s already well-established design aesthetic and developing a strong client base across the luxury, lifestyle and global brand sectors.

Most recently at Exposure in London where he held the role of creative director, Toby has a long and established career, across fashion, luxury, and high-end commercial clients including Burberry, Stella McCartney, Terence Conran and Soho House Group.

He has also worked in creative leadership roles with some of Europe’s most prominent brand and design agencies, including Spin, Landor and Wolf Ollins.

Norris will work alongside newly appointed business and strategy director, Amber Phillips, whose immediate remit is to enhance Cornwell’s strategic capability and strengthen its consumer insights focus as the agency enters a significant growth phase.

With two decades of experience in the brand and communications industry, Phillips has led strategic development programs across the travel and tourism and FMCG sectors. Her experience covers clients such as Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Cadbury Schweppes and Carlton United.

Previously with The Able and Baker Confederacy as managing director and partner, Phillips’ earned her agency stripes working her way through the ranks in roles at George Patterson, Y&R, Cummins & Partners and Big Red before joining Cornwell.

Cornwell CEO Sally Dobell says the new recruits form part of a larger plan to build Cornwell into a major Asia pacific business, and together the new duo extends the agency’s strong capabilities in creative and strategy, and add new depths of expertise to the business.

“Toby and Amber join an already established and experienced team. Their appointments come at a significant time for Cornwell and affirms our very strong commitment to building on our reputation as a premium brand agency, and is a key part of our growth strategy.

“As we move into this next phase of growth, it will become increasingly important to have practitioners of Toby and Amber’s calibre leading the team and taking up new challenges. I am genuinely excited to have my dream team on board and look forward to them both making a significant contribution to the agency’s future success.”
