Stan To Introduce Offline Viewing, Partners With Cartoon Network

Aussie streaming company Stan has announced it will offer subscribers downloadable content from next month, and will also become the new SVOD home of popular children’s channel Cartoon Network.

Stan’s new offline offering will allow subscribers to download the vast majority of its TV show and movie catalogue via the Stan app on both iOS and Android devices to watch anywhere, anytime.

Furthermore, Stan has entered a new partnership with US broadcast media giant Turner to offer subscribers the opportunity to stream shows on Cartoon Network.

The partnership will see the Aussie premiere of the eighth and final season of pop-culture hit Regular Show appear first and exclusively on Stan.

Stan will also have exclusive SVOD rights to other key Cartoon Network animated series, including Adventure Time, Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears and Steven Universe.

Nick Forward, chief content officer at Stan, said the new partnership was great news for families who use the streaming platform.

“Stan is committed to delivering great value and great entertainment for Australian kids and families, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to be the Australian SVOD home of Cartoon Network content,” he said.

“We can’t wait for our customers to be the first in Australia to see the new season of Regular Show.”

Stan has also unveiled a stack of new shows for 2017, which include the latest seasons of Billions and Better Call Saul, Jim Carey’s new comedy-drama series, I’m Dying Up Here, a slate of new original shows, and the exclusive premiere of Twin Peaks’ new series.
