Snickers OOH Activation Returns With Willem Dafoe As Marilyn

BBDO New York continues its Snickers Super Bowl spot starring Willem Dafoe and Marilyn Monroe in its latest OOH interactive experience.

In honour of what would have been Monroe’s 90th birthday this week, Snickers has launched an online video of an OOH interactive experience.

The experience is an installation that displays a continuously animated image of Monroe’s skirt blowing in the breeze – an iconic scene from the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch. When facial recognition detects someone staring, Monroe turns into her hungry alter-ego, Willem Dafoe.

Check out the spot below:

Earlier this year, Snickers launched its new Super Bowl 50 commercial, continuing its “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign.

The ad featured Dafoe (known for his work in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, as well as Lars von Trier’s film Antichrist and Nymphomaniac) mimicking the classic Marilyn Monroe scene in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch.
