Sleazy Tennis Star Banned For Kissing And Groping A Reporter At The French Open

French tennis player Maxime Hamou has been chucked out of the French Open after he tried to kiss a female reporter repeatedly during a live TV interview.

The 21-year-old had just lost his first round match and was being interviewed live by France’s Avantage Leconte program.

The hosts laughing as the journalist, Maly Thomas, attempted to duck and weave out of the way. Thomas later said: “If I hadn’t been live on air, I would have punched him.”

The French Tennis Federation (FTT) later condemned the “reprehensible behaviour” and ordered an investigation into how it happened.

In a statement, the broadcaster said: “We sincerely regret the incident that occurred during yesterday evening’s interview. The behaviour of the interviewee was highly inappropriate and we do not condone such conduct in any way.”

A chastened Hamou has since apologised for his actions, posting on Facebook: “I’m still learning every day from my mistakes to become a better tennis player and a better person.”
