Australians seeking cost-effective, innovative marketing solutions in areas without traditional advertising space may have found their answer.

Durable, sturdy, and resilient to the elements, two large 12-metre shipping containers are stacked on top of each other and secured with twist locks to provide a vast, 40-foot high, three-dimensional canvas for companies to brand alongside highways and busy streets.

Tropical Homes – a family-owned business that has been building homes for North Queenslanders for more than 60 years – recently used a couple Royal Wolf containers as a way to advertise in an area lacking customary billboards.

Chris Walters of Tropical Homes Townsville said his company has been so thrilled with the first display that they recently installed a second and are planning to buy a third in the next 12 months.

North Queensland State Manager for Royal Wolf, Michael Meyer, said the modified shipping container billboard combines design and practicality to provide an incredible first impression for passers-by.

“From accommodation solutions to storefronts to portable advertising units, shipping containers are incredibly versatile,” he said.

Royal Wolf is the largest shipping container provider in Australia and New Zealand, with 29 Customer Service Centres and over 20,000 customers.
