Seven Accused Of Tricking Reality TV Show Contestants Into Partner-Swapping

While the second season of Seven’s controversial romance reality TV series, Seven Year Switch, got underway this week, a former contestant claims she was fooled by the show’s producers inter partner-swapping.

Speaking to Mamamia, Michelle Guest said the producers of Seven Year Switch tricked her and her husband Jason into thinking they were signing up for a completely different show.

“We thought we would be together. We didn’t know we’d be partner-swapping,” she said.

“We thought we might be going away together… maybe counselling sessions together.

“It was very different to what we had thought was going to happen.”

Just to give you some background, the show features married couples whose relationships are in turmoil. The married people are matched with a person from one of the couples and are to live together for 14 days, during which time there are no rules.

At the end of the 14 days, each of the couples reunite and make the decision to either part ways or reaffirm their commitment.

Guest said it wasn’t until a little bit later in the experiment that the couple realised it wasn’t what they signed up for.

She added that the difference between the new season and last season is that the fresh batch of contestants know what they’re getting themselves into.

“They know they’re going to be partner swapping, whereas last season, we didn’t know any of that,” she said.
