Check Out Our Winning Mentor From The Women In Media Awards!

Another day, another wonderful winning profile from the Women in Media awards, and today, we introduce you to the lovely Kylie Green, managing director of activations at MKTG Australia, and as it turns out, one heck of a mentor!

Kylie Green has been a woman on a mission since joining Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) in 2013 as MD of Activations ANZ. Kylie created an infrastructure within the Group that fosters the progression of her staff, whilst also devoting her time to mentorship and women’s charities.

In 2014, Kylie launched Women@DAN to empower women within the Group. The national initiative incorporates motivational keynote speakers, masterclasses and networking sessions.

Kylie has taken on an active mentorship role since starting her first business in 1998. Kylie currently mentors seven different people, three of her own staff, two from sister agencies Carat and Columbus, and one external mentee.

She has been an active board director on Layne Beachley’s Aim For The Stars Foundation since 2010. The Foundation aims to inspire and enable girls and women to invest in their future and fulfill their true potential.

Kylie leads by three key measures – connection, impact and change. She leads by inspiration rather than direction, mentoring her people in the importance of authentic action and exemplifying how true bravery is about running head-first towards your fears.

Of her win she said, “My own personal mentoring journey started way back as a young girl around the dinner table where my father would share his stories and advice on starting a business, growing a business and the twists and turns along the way.

“My first mentor was my first boss in advertising, Terence-Liam Preece, who even though retired now is still a great sounding board and influence in my career.

“I have been fortunate to have some great mentors in my life and career and it’s something I also wanted to do as a way of giving back.  Over my career to date I have mentored some 30 men and women in career and personal pursuits.

“What I love about mentoring the most is seeing how through your inspiration, storytelling, sharing of knowledge and a little bit of belief in them that you can have the most profound effect on their direction, plans, milestones and success. And that’s the best gift you could ever receive.”
