Multi Channel Network (MCN) will boost its digital sales team with the addition of Richard Baxter as Melbourne’s new digital sales director.

Baxter will lead the state-based sales activities for MCN’s rapidly growing online, mobile, IPTV and programmatic platforms, reporting to MCN national digital sales director, Nev Hasan.

Baxter joins MCN from Seven Affiliate Sales, where he led the Melbourne sport, sponsorship and integration team. Prior to that, he held senior roles in digital and international content distribution.

Nev Hasan said Baxter’s appointment  puts renewed focus on the Melbourne market as MCN continues to evolve with the ever changing media landscape.

“The addition of Richard to the MCN team allows us to capitalise on our strong momentum in the digital space for the Melbourne market, and ensure we are fully focused on delivering strong commercial outcomes for our clients,” Hasan said.

 “Richard brings with him more than 10 years’ experience in premium media sales across sponsorships and integration, which further strengthens MCN’s multi-platform strategy, and helps us drive the convergence of digital and TV.”

Baxter added: “MCN is one of the media industry’s best technology and data players, making it a true powerhouse of innovation. I am thrilled to be joining the company during such an exciting time and intend on working with the outstanding Melbourne digital team to offer market leading campaigns to advertisers.”

Baxter added he was also looking forward to exploring the digital opportunities underpinned by data, especially the company’s newest data offering, MCN Location.  

“We’ll be using our range of innovative data sets to help brands deliver the right adverting message to a highly relevant audience, and really bring clients’ ideas to life. For video the key will be harnessing the massive growth opportunity MCN’s multi-platform approach provides advertisers. Audiences are increasingly engaging with video content across all devices, so the team and I will build on this, whilst also having a focus on expanding out the MCN Programmatic TV offering,” he said.
