Radio Ratings: KIIS FM’s Brekkie & Drive Line-Ups Fail To Fire In Sydney & Melbourne

The first radio ratings survey is out for 2018, and the news is not so good for Australian Radio Network’s brekkie and drive teams for KIIS FM in Sydney and Melbourne.

According to GfK (the official provider of radio ratings for Commercial Radio Australia), KIIS FM’s new drive show, Will & Woody, has had a tough start to the ratings season in Melbourne and Sydney, with the losing 2 per cent and 1.7 per cent market share respectively.

Meanwhile, KIIS FM’s Sydney breakfast power couple Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson slipped to third in the ratings with a 2.1 per cent drop to 10 per cent (however, they do remain numero uno in FM).

The news wasn’t much better for KIIS FM’s replacement brekkie show for Matt & Meshel in Melbourne, with Jase & PJ pushing the station’s share down 1.2 per cent to 5.1 per cent.

Elsewhere, Southern Cross Austereo’s 2Day FM has had a solid start to the year in the breakfast slot, with its new-look team of Em Rusciano, Ed Kavalee and Grant Denyer lifting its ratings performance 0.6 per cent to 3.4 per cent.

It comes after SCA chief executive Grant Blackley reiterated the radio network’s commitment to improving the performance of 2Day FM in the brekkie slot.

Here’s a thorough city-by-city breakdown of the ratings…
