QBE Offers Swans Fans The Chance To Get Married Before The Bounce

One lucky couple have the chance to win their wedding on the Sydney Cricket Ground before a Sydney Swans match thanks to the club’s Principal Partner QBE.

The wedding, prior to the first bounce of the Round 23 clash between the Swans and Gold Coast in September, will be followed by a private reception at the SCG for 100 people with theming, food and beverages all included in the prize.

To enter couples have to submit a photo that best displays their relationship and in 500 words or less tell the story on why they should be selected as the winning couple.

The competition is open to all couples who want to get married, renew their vows or hold a commitment ceremony.

Sydney Swans player Ted Richards said “I got married to my beautiful wife, Ella, last October and for QBE to give a deserving couple the opportunity to have their special day at a Sydney Swans game would be incredibly unique and special.

“While we know nothing at all about wedding dresses, flowers and event planning we’re excited a couple will be getting married before our match against the Gold Coast Suns and having their reception while we’re playing.”

The winning couple will also have the honour of tossing the coin before the game.

Jenny Boddington, QBE Australia executive general manager responsible for marketing, said she was delighted to launch this competition with the Sydney Swans.

“QBE is extremely pleased to be making two Swans fans’ special day possible on the hollowed turf of the SCG.

“As a long-term partner of the Swans, with a relationship spanning 29 years, we’re excited to support a new family embark on their own journey of commitment. We look forward to helping the lucky couple plan over the next few months to ensure their day is one to remember come September.”

The competition opens on Monday 15th June and entries will close on Friday 10th July, 2015. Click here for more information.
