If there’s anything you want your brand to be known for, it’s customer satisfaction, and after Roy Morgan’s awards of the same name last night, a whole range of brands are riding the high wave.

At a gala dinner in Melbourne, Roy Morgan’s CEO Michele Levine presented 32 awards to businesses that consistently outperformed their peers throughout 2016 with their unwavering dedication to satisfying their customers – as judged by these very customers.

Lexus took home the Automotive category, while ALDI was named supermarket of the year, Myer the Department Store of the Year, and CommBank the Major Bank of the Year.

Qantas was awarded both Domestic Airline and Domestic Business Airline of the Year in the Tourism and Travel Customer Satisfaction Awards for 2016, the third year in a row for the flying kangaroo. Interestingly, Qantas was pipped by Air New Zealand just three months ago in airlinerating.com’s Airline Excellence Awards.

Michele Levine, CEO of Roy Morgan Research, said: “Qantas clearly understand this, warding off a spirited challenge by Virgin Australia to satisfy an average 85 per cent of their leisure passengers every month of 2016, consolidating on their similarly successful results in 2015.”

The International Airline winner was Emirates, the first time the carrier has won the award.

“Big or small, first-timer or veteran champion, the 32 businesses honoured in last night’s awards may come from diverse industries but they all share one crucial characteristic: their unrivalled dedication to ensuring their customers are satisfied, and their success as rated by their customers,” Levine added.
