Publicis Worldwide And ZenithOptimedia Launch Drugstore

Publicis Worldwide Australia and ZenithOptimedia in Australia are preparing to open the doors of Publicis Worldwide’s innovation and startup consultancy offering, Drugstore.

The new, unique business will offer clients digital innovation strategy, training, tech immersion and programs for driving, engaging and working with the startup world to deliver marketing innovation.

The purpose of Drugstore is to bring ZenithOptimedia and Publicis Worldwide clients closer to the innovation, technology and entrepreneurial thinking of the startup world, in order to help them manage industry disruption and succeed through collaborative advantage. The business will expand in Australia in part through collaboration with some of the most successful startup incubator businesses.

Publicis Founder – Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet – introduced the American Drugstore concept to France in the fifties, with the insight of consumers benefitting from having different businesses together under one roof. Today, this same premise underpins Publicis Worldwide’s innovation offering; with the Publicis Drugstore launch in London last year (October 2014) and in Sydney this month.

The Drugstore in London has become a highly successful operation in leading the change for clients towards the forefront of innovation and helping them harness the forces of digital transformation. The London and Sydney Drugstores will collaborate closely, continuously sharing knowledge and new initiatives.

“Drugstore is a unique resource for clients,” said Iona Macgregor, Publicis Worldwide Australia’s chief strategy officer. “It’s a new type of creative forum and an opportunity to bridge business cultures. We all have a lot to gain from diverse stories and approaches. Drugstore’s offer is designed to accelerate that learning.”

Aaron Michie, ZenithOptimedia’s chief innovation officer said, “There’s barely an industry in the country that isn’t undergoing some sort of technologically-led disruption and many businesses are struggling to keep pace with the change that’s happening around them. Drugstore and our collaborations with tech incubators will allow us to help our clients and ourselves not only navigate the changing landscapes ahead, but be innovative enough to succeed.”

The start-up phases of Drugstore Australia will be managed jointly by Publicis Worldwide and ZenithOptimedia and will be housed in the Sydney offices.
