PRIA WA Recognises 12 Campaigns At PR State Awards

Last Thursday saw Western Australia present their 2015 Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) State Awards for Excellence Awards at the West Australian Ballet Centre in Maylands. With over 80 guests attending the cocktail evening in celebration of this year’s most innovative PR campaigns and professionals, the night was one to be remembered.

On the night, four winning, three highly commended, and five commended campaigns were recognised across seven categories.

Last night’s awards also included a category unique to Western Australia: the WW Mitchell Student of the Year Award. This year’s winner was Karen Russell from Edith Cowan University, with Khoon (Michelle) Tran from Curtin University being awarded Highly Commended.

The WA Division President and Director to the National Board, Renae Desai, said, “This year’s entries were outstanding. The public relations industry in Western Australia continues to produce high quality communication strategies with dedication, professionalism and creativity.

The short list of finalists was of a very high calibre and those who walked away with an award last night represent the continuing levels of excellence that our members achieve year-after-year.”

PRIA congratulates all the award recipients on achieving one of the most prestigious public relations and communication industry accolades. Participation in the awards is restricted to PRIA members who created or led public relations campaigns that were concluded and evaluated by 30 June 2015.
