PlayStation Australia & Perisher Celebrate Two Decades Together

This year, PlayStation Australia and ski resort Perisher celebrate 20 years together and the longest running partnership in both brands’ history.

Since inception, the partnership has brought Australian snow guests unrivalled winter experiences and activities. PlayStation’s two-decade relationship with Perisher continues to bring adrenalin-filled experiences to players both on and off the mountain.

This year is no exception, with PlayStation sponsoring five terrain parks in addition to the PlayStation Slopestyle Terrain Park, rated the best terrain park in the southern hemisphere.

Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia said: “We are extremely proud to be celebrating this 20 year milestone with our partners at Perisher. It’s an incredible privilege to be in a position where we can reflect on a relationship that spans four generations of PlayStation consoles and millions of snow lovers hitting the slopes in Australia.”

Peter Brulisauer, COO of Perisher said, “Year on year, we’ve worked with PlayStation to create an unmatched action packed experience for Australians each winter and believe this year we’ve done it again. We’re thrilled to be celebrating 20 years together and with the introduction of the new and improved terrain parks we’re excited to the see the possibilities that come with it for our guests.”

As part of this year’s partnership, Perisher and PlayStation are giving Perisher guests the opportunity to meet some of the best Slopestyle athletes in the world at a new event called “Meet the Pros”.

Perisher’s PlayStation Slopestyle Terrain Park welcomes the top Slopestyle skiers and boarders in the world to train and compete during the season, including Winter Olympic and X Games Medallists. Starting this Sunday, 14 August, guests can meet their favourite athletes in the PlayStation Leichhardt Terrain Park at Perisher, including Sebastian Toutant, Zak Hale, Russ Henshaw, Jess Rich, Spencer Obrian, Anna Gasser, Oystein Braaten and more.

This year also sees the return of the popular #PS4SlopeStyle social competition, where visitors share and express their favourite moments from carving up the mountain to enjoying the resort in style. Whether you’re there for all the snow or just for show, people are welcome to share all fun and memorable moments using the hashtag #PS4SlopeStyle when uploading to social media for their chance to win a PlayStation®4 weekly.
