PHD Melbourne has announced the appointment of Tony McKay to the role of group business director on the Carlton & United Breweries account.

McKay will lead the business across Australia, Vietnam and India, reporting into PHD Melbourne’s general manager, Simon Lawson.

McKay brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held leadership positions at a number of  groups, including MKTG and Mitchell & Partners. As such, he is well-equipped to lead a team of smart media thinkers committed to delivering the best outcomes for CUB.

Commenting on the appointment, Lawson said: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tony in the past and have always considered him one of the smartest operators in the business. I am excited to have him join the team at PHD Melbourne and take CUB’s communications to new heights.”

McKay added: “CUB is one of Australia’s most iconic marketers; the opportunity to lead a great team at PHD in taking these brands forward is one that is personally exciting and rewarding. In fact, starting out in the business, my first job was as a Media Assistant on the CUB account at Patts.
