Pandora Launches Personalised Music Experience ‘Thumbprint Radio’

Pandora has launched a hyper-personalised music experience for its users called Thumbprint Radio. The station is based on what listeners have given the ‘thumbs up’.

According to chief product officer at Pandora Chris Phillips: “This is a living, breathing station that will continue to change as you listen – each time you thumb up a track on Pandora, your station will update and evolve.”

While Thumbprint Radio will help users songs you’ve liked years ago, Pandora will continue to add in new songs that its musicologists suggested you might enjoy.

These stations are perfect for sharing because they are such a unique reflection of your own musical taste. We have made sharing your Thumbprint Radio station easy. Once shared, your station will dynamically update for your friends as you thumb, so no going back to the old days when you had to update a playlist every time you unearth a new favorite song.

Last month B&T chatted with Nicole McInnes, director of marketing of Pandora ANZ, about Pandora’s first local marketing campaign.
