Nova’s Mauce settles sausage sizzle dramas

Radio network Nova is pushing beyond the media world and into a space dominated by supermarkets and food companies – condiments.

Nova 100’s breakfast host Tommy Little has combined tomato sauce and mustard to create Mauce, thus solving the hardware store sausage sizzle dilemma. Now fans of BBQ snags can pick up one bottle to lubricate their bread instead of patiently waiting until their turn to add a squirt of mustard to their already tomato sauced sausage.

Sadly, bottles of the ingenious Mauce are available only to listeners of Nova 100’s Meshel & Tommy breakfast program.

Mauce was brought to life when global condiment giant Masterfoods heard of Little’s idea and agreed to create a limited run of the product.

Mauce, which is exclusive to Nova and will not be sold through retailers, will be available for taste at The Good Food and Wine Show on May 30.

Little said: “This is what happened with Zuckerberg when they did Facebook, a lot of people went ‘nah Myspace is already around’ and if he’d listened to all the naysayers out there he would’ve been a geek with nothing but look at him now, he’s a geek with heaps.”
