Nine Fails To Get Racial Vilification Complaint Against Sonia Kruger Thrown Out

Nine host Sonia Kruger is due to face the music next month over her on-air call to ban Muslims from entering Australia.

The TV network has failed in its attempt to have a racial vilification complaint against Kruger, who hosts Today Extra and The Voice, dismissed without a hearing by The Civil and Administrative Tribunal, according to media reports.

Kruger sparked controversy almost two years ago during an appearance on the Today show where she recommended the government put a temporary ban on Muslim immigration, endorsing an article by News Corp columnist Andrew Bolt.

The TV host followed up the controversial comments with some defence in the form of a Twitter post.

The hearing will take place on Tuesday 19 June.

Nine declined to comment when contacted by B&T.
